COM 150 - Video Production I
3 Credits
A combination lecture/lab course designed to introduce students to creating video productions on location. Emphasis is placed on the use of portable video cameras, various lighting and audio equipment, and non-linear editing software. Through preproduction assignments and the critical examination of various productions, students will utilize learned videographic and editing skills to create various lab based videos.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate videotaping techniques including camera movements, angles, and camera shots.
2. Evaluate various videotaping techniques and apply this knowledge to a finished product.
3. Create pre-visualization documents for the use in story development.
4. Apply the use of portable lighting equipment and accessories to modify preexisting lighting conditions.
5. Evaluate different video shoot scenarios to determine correct microphone selection.
6. Create a finished video using non-linear editing software.
7. Evaluate various video productions through reflection of critical thought.
